In our first bullited "Basic Measurements and Fabric Care Conversions" chart at the bottom of this page, you will find the information you need for most household bedding sizes, table sizes etc.
Your upholstered furniture may be larger than what the allowance illustrated in our chart requires. For example: In the second bullited chart at the bottom of this page, "Reupholstery Yardage Chart" a standard size wing chair is supposed to be recovered in 5 1/2 yards. We know from years experience in our workshop that a standard wing chair manufactured by todays standards takes a minimum of 7 1/2 yards. Always error on the side of having enough fabric left for a throw pillow or two rather than to be short of enough fabric to finish your job.
Also remember to add fabric for your arm covers, skirts and attached pillow backs. See our "Sofa Corner & Arm Illustrations" chart to better understand what style skirt you need fabric for.
"More Yardage Charts" displays the actual yardages that you will require for the style sofa skirt you are interested in. You must add addtional fabric for pattern repeat on skirts as well. Here you will also see what the directional use of fabric such as right way also known as "Up the Roll" or "Railroaded" means. Please print any of these charts you may find useful.
